My grandmother was Ruby Lee Fansler, daughter of Park and Minnie Yawn Fansler (both buried in Elkins, WV.) Park and Minnie had 8 children Ruby, her twin brother Robert, Brothers - Dee, Gordon, Tennesen, Sisters - Vernelle, Shirley and Dorothy. Park was from the Randolph/ Tucker Co. areas in WV, he moved to Missisip for work in the logging industry. He married Minnie Yawn. They had their 8 children in Collins, Missip, then when my Ruby married Thomas Edward Broughton, the entire family moved to Spruce, WV (1 hour above Elkins) to work with the Railroad. Tom Broughton and Ruby Lee Fansler Broughton had 6 children, Robert Edward, Betty Zane, Hirsil E., Virgil Park (my father also the mayor of Elkins), Carol, and Shirley.

Park Fansler was the son of John Fansler and Sara Gibson Fansler. John had a brother named Stark who died at the age of two from a falling tree.

Park and Minnie, John and Sara, Ruby and Tom all are buried in Elkins.

I know we are descendents from Deitrich, but we are not sure how. I beleive John's father's name was also John. I hope this may help someone looking for more info. If anyone had anyinfo that may help me, I would appreciate it.

If ever passing thru Elkins, stop and see my father at City Hall, he and I are very interested in the Fansler history.
