Welcome First of all, you need to recognize that much before 1900, our last names were widely mangled: Fannon, Fanning, Fannin, Fanen, and so forth. While there are a number of distictly seperate lines in the US before 1800 and some immigrants from Ireland after that point, the spelling is no clue to which group. Second, the reasonably distict early american lines of the family: The Connecticut/New York Fannings The Chestnut Creek Va. John Fannings The Amelia Co. Va. Bryant Fannins The Maryland Benony Fannings Some early Carolina lines They overlap, often only a mountain away. So be careful Third, to get anywhere, you need to get back to 1930 and locate probably your greatgrandparents in the 1930 US census. Perhaps try to find a marraige record for Charlie and Mable in Ohio. Keep in touch. My emailis listed on this website Tom Fannin Notify Administrator about this message?
