Laughlin Fannin's Militia

Need help to establish the military record of Laughlin Fannin. If he was a Capt. and if he served in the VA Militia I need the papers (official roll or similar) to send to the VA so we can get a marble VA marker to place at his gravesite. My understanding is he died in Elbert County but had gone to live with his daughter and husband Nathan Arendal in Franklin County. The Best place to put his marker is in Nathan Arendal's cemetery. Nathan was Laughlin's son-in-law. Can you help me?
