Thanks for the reply, Carolyn.

What I know about James William Fannon is him and his descendants as they relate to my grandpa Daniels.

From a "Return of a Marriage to County Clerk" Petersburg, Menard Co., Illinois dated 13 Nov 1879, it states that Henry E Daniels and Harriet A Fannon were united in marriage this 13th day of November, 1879. It also states that the father of Harriet is "James William Fannon" and the mother of Harriet is "Elizabeth A Sturgis".

From an obituary of Mrs. Henry Daniels, it states: "Harriet Ann Fannon oldest daughter of [James William and Elizabeth Ann Fannon], was born in Clinton county, Ohio, August 27th, 1852. She came to Illinois with her parents when she was two years old. She was united in marriage to Henry E Daniels, Nov 13th, 1879 at Petersburg, Menard co., Il. To this union was born six children, four sons and two daughters, namely, James A., William Edward, Joseph H., and Mrs. Hattie Miller, all of Hillview District. Mrs Nettie Smith of Winchester and Robert of Barrow. Harriet Daniels was the oldest of seven children."

From here I follow it on through the Daniels line of which Robert of Barrow is my grandfather. Hope this helps anyone who reads this with research on the Fannon's. What I believe would help me is an 1850 and 1860 census of Clinton Co., Ohio. Also, birth records of Harriet Ann Fannon (8/27/1852) Clinton Co., Ohio.

Carolyn, Eliz Ann STURGEON is very close to the name on the marriage document "Elizabeth Ann STURGIS". Also, the marriage date of Oct 1850 would be consistent with the birth of Harriet, the first born, on 8/27/1852. But, it sure would be nice to have a direct tie end. Keep hunting and I would appreciate you keeping me posted.
Thanks
-dan
