Hi I have been researching the Fannon/Fanning of Clinton Co., Ohio for several years. They go back to William Fannon who married Elizabeth. He died in 1844. In his will it mentions Benjamin, James, Polly, Nancy, Melinda, Martha, and Huldah. James married Catherine Mills in 1826 and had James William, John M. Jehu A. , Nancy A.,, Samuel J., Eleanor, Elijah J., Mary M., Wesley, Joel,, Andrew C., Elihu M., Jacob M., Levi, and Silas. I think this James William who married Eliz Ann Sturgeon in Oct 1850 is probably the father of your Harriett. I am a descendant of Jacob Fanning who moved to Grant Co., Indiana in the 1830's and who I believe to be a brother to the James Fannon who married Catherine Mills. Can't find the proof yet, but Jacob Fannon also appeared in Grant Co., and I believe him to be a nephew of my Jacob and a brother to your James William. Would appreciate any info that you have. Carolyn
