Karla, I am from Reuben and Mary Goodwin. All information I have is they definately were known as fanning. It appears after the last child was born, maybe they divorced because he marries Isabelle in Feb. or so and Mary Carmack Fanning dies end of the year. Maybe the grandfather was bitter about the divorce. Fanning and Carmacks intermarried alot.
