I am interested in the identity of Jacob Fanning who married Eliza Jane Henry in Morgan County, IL, on 21 May 1846. What relationship existed, if any, between this Jacob Fanning and the Jacob Fanning who married Mary Downs 24 September 1822 in Lawrence County, TN? Interestingly enough, the youngest child of Jacob Fanning and Mary Downs was named Eliza Jane Fanning. Reason for interest: My husband's third great grandparents were Jacob Fanning and Mary Downs and I wondered how this other Jacob fit in the family genealogy. Jewel Gibson
