Fairly certain the Joseph Fanning that married as a #2 wife Mary 'Polly' Brown was the son of Abraham Fanning and Nancy Thompson Galloway. This Joseph Fanning was born 1823 Lawrence Co., TN, and died 1900 Morgan Co., IL, was divorced c1855 from his #1 wife Julia Ann Hull. Believe Joseph had 15 known children, 7 by Julia and 8 by Polly. The children were Palmyra, Elizabeth, Nancy, James Monroe, George, Elijah, Ruth Ann 'Annie', Sarah Caroline, Malvina, Abraham, John, Joseph, Mary S., Robert and Barbara Ann.
