G.W. Fanning moved to Hunt Co., TX, from Morgan Co., IL, c1845/46. He was born 1812 in Giles Co., TN. This Fanning line came from Wythe/Grayson Cos., VA, and before that from what is now Randolph Co., NC. Not aware of any Holts in the Morgan Co., IL, area in the mid 1840's.
