I have information on a Bryant Fanning, b. 1698, d. 1765 in Amelia Co., Va. He married Elizabeth __________. If my information is correct (with some possible spelling errors) I think that I am a descendent of Bryant or Bryan. Bryant would be my gggggg-grandfather. My information goes like this:

Bryant Fanning 1698-1765
m. Elizabeth __________
their son:

John Fanning b. 1737 VA, died 1813 Grayson Co., VA.
m. Elizabeth Ann ________in Amelia Co., VA.
their son:

John Fanning, Jr. b. 1762 d. 1845 Wythe Co., VA.
m. Mary Polly Davis
their son:

Reuben B. Fanning b. 1804 VA, d. 1853 in Sullivan Co., MO (my ggg-grandfather)
m. Martha (Patsy) Lineberry

etc. I have more info on this line.

Are we talking about the same Bryan (Bryant)?
