Geralyn--Do you know from what town in Tipperary your Fannings came? Did Edward have at least two brothers, named Hugh[Joseph] and Patrick? Those two came over around 1850 also. Hugh ended up in Indiana; Patrick became a De La Salle Christian Brother who went back and forth between US and Ireland. There were six other siblings in their family (don't know the parents' names yet). They lived in a small townland near Thurles. Any possible connection?
