Pat I made copies of 4 pages of militia list from Virginia.
I did not write down the exact name of the book.I did this before the book you reference was written in 1981.This writer put a note after the list and states those over fifty, James Fannen, Samuel Newberry, Thomas Smith, Rause Potter, and a few others.He also list the old and inform.Then he list soldiers which Bryan Fannin is one of them.If James was over 50, and we don't know how much over he was, he was born abt. 1731.This is the only list James appears on.John and Thomas appear on Flowerswift's list.Sorry I can't be more help.
