According to my info from others, Thomas J. Fanning was born 4/9/1870, in Carroll Co., AR (Rockhouse), married Nevada Wood on 6/2/1894, in Carroll Co., and died 4/28/1943, in Laramie, WY.
Thomas J. Fanning was the son of William Marion Fanning and Elizabeth Fanning. On the male Fanning side, he was the grandson of George Wash.(Celia Criswell)Fanning Jr, ggrandson of George Wash.(Rebecca Keltner)Fanning (my ggggrandparents) and gggrandson of Joseph(Barbara Davis)Fanning.
Thomas' mother was Elizabeth Fanning, daughter of John Snoddy Fanning and Mary Ann Houston. Mary Ann Houston was the daughter of Robert Houston and Delilah Fanning, the daughter of Joseph(Barbara Davis)Fanning, thus again making Thomas a gggrandson of of Joseph and Barbara.
But that is not all the Fanning relationships of Thomas. Thomas' grandfather, John S. Fanning, was the son of John (Sarah Frazier?) Fanning. All these years researchers thought that John(Sarah) was the son of Jacob and Nancy Fanning, a brother to Joseph Fanning. BUT it appears according to the ydna testing that he was probably the son of Joseph and Barbara. Thus Joseph and Barbara are again gggrandparents to Thomas.
It would be awesome, stupendous, fantastic, to have a male descendent of Thomas J. join our ydna project. Do you know of anyone that might consider joining us?
