I have a John Fanning in my family tree who was born in 1764...his father was William b~1738. John's siblings were William b. 1762 and Joseph b. 1766.

John's children were: George b. 1793, Joseph and John Jr. At this point the lineage follows George and hi many children:

Levi Wesley 1809
John 1811
Henry 1812
Robert 1816
Cyrus 1818
Abraham 1820
Ephriam 1822
Jacob 1824
George 1827
Rachel 1828
Joseph 1829
Thomas 1829
Caroline 1832
LaFaye 1834
Malinda 1850

I don't know if any of these match what you have?? I would be interested to see some of your names and dates also.
