Thanks. I'm descended from the "Southern" Fannin ancestors in GA. I came across my great-grandmother's copy of the "History of the Fanning Family" books, but she had Appendix J bookmarked. Doesn't sound like there's any connection there.
Darn... that means that the rest of the books aren't really relevant for me.

That also opens up the question of who the real ancestors are behind James Fannin, Sr.??

Is there a single, old source for the Fannin name? Or did Fannins just start appearing here and there?
