I do not have any documentation of a son John or Jehu, but it may be possible. I would love to have more information.
I also am not sure about your death date

From Halifax Co. Court Orders, I have this text:
April Court, 1770 Robert Donald and Co. Plantiffs against Jehu Fanning, defendant, on a attachment against said defendant' s estate. The sheriff having returned that he had levied the said defendant on part of a hogshead of tobacco, this day came the plantiff and the defendant not appearing to repay, the plantiff proved their account for 4L 1 S

No mention of being deceased

Furthermore, May 15, 1779 in Halifax Deeds 11784-1790 p. 290 it gives
P. 290 Jehu Fannin of Halifax for 3# 6s sell to Joseph Pullan of Halifax 4 cattle, 3 sheep, 1 feather bed, and furniture, 2 spinnig wheels, 1 loom, and 3___ signed MAy 15, 1779 Jehu Fanin Wit. William Prider.
"
His death does not show in the HA,lifax Will books for 1780-17901 The 1782-1785 Personal Property lists shows him with 1782
Jehu Fanning 1 tithe, 0 negros, 1 horse, 0 mules, 8 cattle
1783
Jehu Fanning 1 tithe, 0 negros, 0 horses, 1 mule, 6 cattle
1784
Jehu Fanning 1 tithe, 0 negros, 0 horses, 1 mule, 4 cattle
1785
Jehu Fanning 1 tithe, 0 negros, 0 hhorses, 1 mule, 0 cattle
August 18, 1783 he is noted in a neighbor's land transaction on south side Difficult Creek,
Halifax Co .Deeds 1784-1790 shows In November 19, 1785,
P.470 Title from Jehu Faning and Elizabeth his wife of Halifax to Samuel Gennett of Halifax for 50 # a certain tract of land where on said Samuel Gennett now lives, lying on the branches of Difficult Creek in halifax containiong 223 acres adj. land of Phillip Major, William Severs & Dr. Josiah Haynes

the 1785 Halifax Censis shows John Fannin Halifax Co. Va. Census 5 in household

Now I have Elizabeth as his wife in these HAlifax transactionas and Ann in his 1767 Amelia County land sale. and I only show one possible child, Clement, who shows up in Halifax Co. in 1801 based on a land deal reported in Greene Co. Georgia, also possibly takingin the orphaned Anne Gurr in 1737 in Prince George Co Va.
This would have made him 40 when he served in F&I war and maybe 70 when he died.

Thanks for the question. Always good to look at these things from several sides

Tom
