This is to correct my misleading email.

At this time, there is not any link proven between Laughlin and Middleton. The only connection was a rumored birth of Middleton Jr. in Elbert Co. Ga. made by Cal Ingram with no source indicated. Otherwise, Middleton is firmly connected with CAswell co. NC and then Lincoln Co. Tenn.

There is no substantiated records showing that Bayant Fannin's wife Elizabeth was a Middleton, and hence the name of a grandchild.

Laughlin Sr. is connected with Amelia Co. Va and then Mecklenburg Co. Va. with his son Laughlin going on to Elbert Co. Ga.

One result in the Fannin DNA study indicates no close relationship (and one was an apparent adoption). One additional study is due shortly.
