Issue resolved about Thomas Anis Fanning book by Cal Ingram
Posted by: Pat Fannin (ID *****8039) Date: October 05, 2008 at 21:38:10
  of 1594

The long sought after work of Cal Ingram entitled: "Descendants of Thomas Anis Fanning", has finally been discovered. All this time, it was readily available, but overlooked. The search had been for a book by that title, however, the work was not a book, but a gedcom file (ingram1956)(cingram@inficad.com) that can be found on Rootsweb.com under: "Ingram & Related Families" by Cal Ingram. The original reference that precipitated the search for a publication was cited in another gedcom as follows:

Sources: Descendants of Thomas Anis Fannin by Cal Ingram

Mr. Ingram,in his gedcom file, listed the family of Thomas Anis Fanning b. abt. 1636 in Ireland, married Frances Ellis, daughter of Richard Ellis, and died in Va. in 1700. He is listed as the father of Laughlin Fanning, who is listed as the father of Bryan Fanning of Amelia Co., Va.

Contact with the author has been attempted many times throughout the years of searching for this illusive publication, however, no replies have been made to the queries.

Recent DNA results will shed more light on the ancestry of Bryan Fanning of Amelia Co., Va., and can be found at GenForum.com. Results are posted under: Fanning Family Genealogy Forum.
The posting is listed as: W F Brook's History Confirmed re:Edmund Fanning        Date: April 17, 2008 at 11:23:09
