I am looking for information about my father and his family.
According to my "Birth Certificate" his name was Omer R. Fannin But, I believe the correct spelling was Omar. He was married to my mother Marcella Lunsford Fannin when I was born in 1938. After he an my mother parted ways he married Blanche. I think her last name was Logan. My birth, my parents divorce and I believe My father's second marriage would have been in Henry County, Indiana.
It appears someone does not want anyone to learn about him nor his decedents. All references I find have been un accessible, most marked "Private". I can find information down to his father Reynold Fannin, but, not much. I have not been able to locate anything about my Grandmother Effie Fannin Green (?). I do know she was a patient in the East Haven State Hospital in Wayne County Indiana when I was a child.
I have not been able to information on my step-grandmother Usley S. Fannin either. It seems someone has made a effort to keep our recent heritage a secret.
I am new at looking for family histories, and may be unable to locate information because of my inexperience. Help if you will.
