I have copies of the marriage licenses of Andrew J. Daniels to Celistia Fannin and to Alice Johnson. I am not interested in gathering more information on Celistia’s descendants unless it tells me what happened to her sister, Rebecca. There is a place on Celistia’s marriage page which says she was married to Andrew at the house of (looks like) R & F Humfort. I’m working on the suspicion that R. Humfort was Celistia’s sister, Rebecca, my great grandmother.

The lookup volunteer asked around and got a consensus that the surname was “Hanfort.” My searches turned up no such spellings as Hanfort and Humfort, but I do have record of a great nephew of Rebecca whose given name was “Hansford,” and I find that name a lot, but still no bullseye.

The fact that the marriage certificate says Celistia was born in Wayne County, WV is sufficient proof to me that she was Silas and Mary Fannin’s daughter. Andrew’s designation as “widower” on his second marriage certificate tells me that Celistia was deceased and not divorced.

If you will email me at, I will try to send you copies of the marriage licenses as attachments.
