Most of my information is from a LDS submittal prepared by Mark Whiting in 1988 and passed to me by a cousin. Some information I have obtained independently. Biggest problem appears to be determining which Achilles/Akerless/Archeales/etc. is talked about. Oldest one seems to be Achilles Fannin Sr.(1), son of Bryan and Elizabeth Fannin of Amelia County va. His death date (14 Apr 1812) comes from reported will in Wythe Co.Va. Reported married to Alice Muncey in The Giles Co.Va History. This Achilles (1)lived on Walker's Creek, Fincastle/Montgomery/Wythe Co.Va. His will lists children as William, Sarah Straighly, Bryant, David, and Akerless (2). Whiting listed Siblings: Laughlin Fannin, Phillip Fannin, John Jehu Fannin, Judith Fannin, David Fannin, Mary Fannin, Bryant Fannin Jr. Anna Fannin, Betsey Fannin, Peggy Margaret Fannin and Frankey Frances Fannin. Akerless (2)is estimated to be born 1760/1766. His will was proved 12 January 1834 in Wythe Co. listing children: Bryant, Acles (3), Abigail Havens (married to James Havens) and Mary Muncy 1803-1881(married to Jacob Muncy). Whiting claims Akerless (2) may have had three or four wives: Elizabeth Bruce Sept. 6,1803 (Wythe Co. Marriage Records Vol.1),Elizabeth (Eleanor) Workman July 6 1822 (Tazewell Co. Film 8145,pt 59, daughter of Moses Workman and Elizabeth Bruce (I thought she married Akerless (2)in 1803???), and finally to Polly (sometimes shows as Molly) Heath on 17 Sept. 1823 Marriage Rec Vol. 1 Wythe Co. This sounds like Eleanor did not last long after marriage, or there is a mixup of adult Achilles (at least four are know subsequent to 1833. Perhaps some others can add to this picture.
