Grant FANNIN of Shelby Co., TN?

Almost all of my research into the family of Angeline Saphronia FANNIN (b 1830, Shelby Co., TN; d 1911, Medina Co., TX) indicates that her parents were Grant FANNIN and Carroline Patton WINTERS, who married in Shelby Co., TN in May 1832. The marriage record clearly reads "Grant TARMON". Noting the discrepancy between Angeline's birth year and her parents' marriage year, can anyone identify this Grant FANNIN? I haven't found a record of him in Shelby Co., TN.
