According to the 1854 state census for Wapello County, Iowa there was an Elijah Marlow (no e on the end)living near Isaac C Fanchey (probably should be an r on the end). I was fortunate a few years ago to be able to go to Jefferson Co. Iowa and made copies of a lot of documents for the Fansher/Fancher family and the Powells. I have David Fansher/Fanchers ( father of Isaac C and grandfather of Sarah's) will. He mentions his children Isaac C., Clarinda, Nancy, Elizabeth, John W., Maragaret M., Joseph, and William and an adopted child Barbara Gilmore. He also mentions his granddaughter Sarah A. Fansher to receive 100 dollars if she would remain with her grandmother Rachel. Also found a strange document where Sarah was pettioning the court for guardianship of her daughter Edith Sophonia Marlow which was granted Aug. 16, 1866.Hope this helps.
