Cheri - your Margaret Matilda Fancher was the daughter of John Fancher. John was the son of Isaac, oldest son of Richard and Sarah Jarnigan Fancher. John was born in Overton County TN. His family moved to Illinois in the late 1820's. He and his brother Alexander went to California in 1850 and you can find them in the San Diego Census. John stayed in CA and Alex went back to Piney Township Arkansas where he had his home. He was in business with his Uncle James Fancher. Alexander went back to CA with cattle and for more gold in 1853, and then went again in 1857 but never made it. He and his entire family save the two youngest were murdered by Mormons at Mountain Meadows Utah on 9/11/1857. If you need more info, let me know. Lynn-Marie Fancher
