In 1870 Joseph Fancher is in the town of Volney, in Oswego County, NY; Post Office: Fulton, New York.
Roll: M593_1074; Page: 607; Image: 514.

All born in New York:

Joseph Fancher, age 31 (b. ca 1839) Working in Sawmill
Melissa, age 28, (b. ca 1842) Keeping House
Eva, age 8 (b. ca 1862)
Clayton, age 5 (b. 1865)
Lilly, age 2, (b. ca 1868)
Unnamed Child, age, 3/12 (b. 1870)

You said that Lilly was born 1870. It could be that this 2 year old Lilly died and the unnamed child was called Lilly???

So far I can't find Joseph and Melissa before 1870. I'm still looking!
