I am searching for information on William Fancher who married Mary Stowers.
I show 6 children of William and Mary:
1. Charles Sherman Fancher b. 12/11/1886 in Mattoon, IL married Myrtle Mae Sisley
2. William Fancher
3. John Fancher
4. Montez Fancher
5. Inez Fancher
6. Albert Fancher b. May, 1893 married Annunciata
Charles Sherman Fancher and Myrtle Mae Sisley had 5 children:
1. Charles Sherman Fancher, Jr. b. 8/4/1918 married Elizabeth Ellis
2. Maurice James Fancher b. 3/19/1908 married Florence
3. Margaret Cleo Fancher b. 9/25/1911 married Will Thompson
4. Thomas Joseph Fancher b. 12/11/1913 married Bessie Lee Beasly
5. Grew Albert Fancher b. 5/27/1921 died on Guam
Charles Sherman Fancher and Elizabeth Ellis had 2 daughters:
1. Patricia Ann Fancher b. 1/26/1945 married Joe Carpenter (my parents)
2. Sandra Fancher b. ? married Mike Stafford
I have heard that my line moved from Illinois to Missouri and then to Memphis. My Great Grandfather, Charles Sherman Fancher, Sr. was a mounted police officer in Memphis as was my grandfather Charles, Jr. for a short time. They lived in downtown Memphis with or near other Fancher relatives in the mid 1900's.
I have found other Fanchers listed on this forum in or around Coles County, IL (location of Mattoon, IL) but cannot make a connection. Any help would be appreciated.
