Hi,
Your Jacob could be from the line of Fancher's who came out of Sevier Co,TN to what is Bibb Co,AL today, just prior to AL statehood (12/19/1819). Many settlers knew ahead of time when statehood was going to be declared, and sort of 'waited
around' in the Huntsville,AL area (Madison Co.) for as much as a year or two beforehand in order to be able to get to the land office just in time to fill out paperwork for a deed, thus they would be ready to go and stake their claims to choice land when the date for statehood came.

Your Jacob might've been a br/o- my 3Gr-G.F. Samuel Fancher & his twin brother Richard (b.1767) who settled in Bibb Co,AL. Samuel's son Thornton Fancher(b.1818,Sevier Co,TN) was my 2Gr-G.F.
