Just beginning research on my great grandfather Daniel DeWitt Falvey, who was born in Ireland prior to 1845. I do not have his exact birth date or birth place. Some sources indicate he was born in County Kerry. One source has his birth year in 1825.
He immigrated to Mississippi and served in the Confederate Army. (If his birth year was 1825, this would have made him in his late thirties when he joined the Civil War.)
He married Sarah Elizabeth White who was born in 1845 in Chesterfield, South Carolina. There children were: Joseph 1864; Thomas Emmitt 1866; Mary 1868; Caroline 1870; Susan Emma 1872; John Currin 1874; Louisa Ellen 1877; Emma 1878; Francis 1879; Daniel 1881; Dora and Cora 1882; Annie 1884; Selena 1885.
Daniel DeWitt Falvey died March 27, 1886 in Brookhaven, Mississippi.
