I searched the Irish Family History Foundation's database. It contains 11,500,000 surviving rcds for abt 60% of Irish counties. Rcds B4 1840 are sparse.

For James Fallon B 1836 +/- 4 yrs in all Ireland, I found 32 B rcds. For 1836 (exact), I found 3 B rcds. One of these MAY be for your ancestor. A view of the B rcd SHOULD show the child's parents' names. This fact may validate or invalidate a rcd.

Google the Foundation's name to lead you to this database. Hope this helps. Pls post your search results to my genforum msg.
