Sorry so late to see this and respond
Anyway, you made a very interesting post.
I saw something regarding Fallin-Throsk in Sterling(shire?) Scotland.
I was always told that my family "Fallin" were "Scots-Irish" or in Europe "Ulster Irish or Scots"
But, some people in the Family just say "Irish"
And now I find that there were Englishmen named Fallin or some variation thereof, as well as Scotsmen, and Irish, and also German and Russian families.
I, myself, am betting on Irish, or Scots-Irish, or Scots.
simply because of the time frame and geography involved.
early 1700's British North America, and a family that married "Murphy's and Quinn's"I'm bettin' Irish ... but ... you never know.
Either way, I'm still interested in the Fallens and Fallin in Scotland (maybe we were all just one big Celtic family a thousand or so years ago?)
go raibh maith agat,
