I cannot claim a connection to your Capt Fall, but I have an odd coincidence. Daniel Fall, b 1780 in CT, moved to Ontario County, New York in the early 1800s. He had seven children. One, William, stayed in the area (he's my ggg grandfather). Two brothers moved to Michigan; one of the grandsons of Daniel -- Delos Fall -- became a well-known educator, and a biographer was told that the family descended from a British soldier who stayed in the US after the American revolution.
It's a long story to get to the Revolution, but I wondered if you might know anything about Capt Fall's origin or what happened to him? Was he from the Chesapeake area? Was he killed in the battle of 1781? You mentioned that sources differ on his first name. Are those sources readily available?
I appreciate any information. Thanks.
