I just stumbled across a printed oral history of one of my Falk ancestors, dictated in 1915 by Hannah Falk Shallberg, daughter of John A. Falk (1811-1895), and Carrie Elizabeth Falk (1817-1901). The family was originally from Smaland, Sweden. They left Sweden for America in 1854, settled in Swedona, Il, and later moved to Essex sometime in the late 1800's. John and Carrie Falk had 10 children. Their youngest child was named Alfred. Alfred's second wife was named Eugenia.

Looks like it could be a match. I have lots more info and a family tree. I'd be happy to share what I have, and would love to learn more.
