Ernst embarked from Bremen, Germany and arrived in USA on April 15, 1883 on board the SS Strasssburg. Manifest # 15964. With him were Herman, Emilie, Wilhelmina and Bertha.
They arrived in Le Mars Iowa and then moved to the area of Parkston SD
