My Grparents, Herman (Franz Herman) Falk and Augusta Mews were m. in LeMars Iowa in 1886. Augusta died in 1896. They moved to Parkston SD and the Herman moved to Alberta with a new wife Augusta Skode.
Herman came to the US in 1883 with his father Ernst sisters Emilie (Bockhaus), Bertha (Baum) and Wilhelmina.
Family Tradition says that Herman's Brother William (Wilhelm Fridrich Herman) came earlier and settled in Elgin Twp. As of 1900 census there was a William Falk in Elgin Twp married to Emilie Lindner, with children Willie (1885), Martha (1886), George (1890), Frank (1893), Dora (1897), and Mamie (1899). I believe Martha married William Jonke and moved to Lincoln Co SD. Seeking any descendants of this William to find if he was in fact my Herman's brother.
