Becky, I think I can help you. It's funny that you contacted me about the McKees.

Mary Falconar, daughter of James Falconar of Monkton (c.1712-18 Dec. 1779) by Jean Falconer, daughter of David, 4th Lord Falconer of Halkerton, bapt. 27 June 1757, d. 12 Apr. 1833 at Annfield House, Kettle, Fifeshire, Scotland, married, on 22 July 1773, Sir James Colquhoun of Luss, Baronet.

They had several children, including Patrick, an advocate (lawyer), who died, unmarried, before 1803. It looks like Patrick was born around 1778 or so.

This information came from Sir William Fraser, _The Chiefs of Colquhoun and Their Country_ (Edinburgh, 1869), 1: 393. The Falconers are in my book, _Falconer of Halkerton_ (Bowie, MD: Heritage Books, 1996).

I'd be interested in knowing more about this Calhoun ("Colquhoun" is the Scottish spelling), whether he was the one who went to South Carolina. Maybe he was Patrick's illegitimate son.

Paul Gifford
