you need to check out walter falconer, born in colinton in 1809 to (I believe) walter falconer (1785) and janet gibson

then his second marriage cert in 1860 to elizabeth sinclair.

both records show walter (1809) with parents walter falconer and janet gibson

colinton is about 4 miles from glencorse.

also walter's (1809) marriage in 1860 show his father as being a ploughman

since walter was born in 1785 on a farm, and lived on farms at boghall and howgate, i suspect that this is the correct person

i do need to find more information though
