Falconer in GHANA Africa

Hi all belovered searchers,
I am looking for my FALCONER roots. Infact the information I hold about my name is very vague. All I know is my Greatgrandfather is a Scottish, but as to where he comes from in Scotland I don't know.
He is either a DANIEL or JOSEPH of which I'm not so sure as well. He was in GHANA then GOLDCOAST in the 1880-90's.He worked either in the OBUASI GOLDFEILDS or was a MERCHANT. He had a son in GHANA around the same time.
Please if anyone knows of link between the FALCONER name and GHANA (WEST AFRICA) should please make a contact.
