Thanks for the reference Robert. You are spot on -it makes reference to my gggg uncle Hector Falconer who emigrated with his family from Handa Island and became the spokesman for the emigrants who were due to be taxed twice over for landing. Nice to see the glowing character reference from the Duke`s factor. I visited his old house recently and he is said to haunt it, but I never got a chance to ask any follow up questions!.
Any idea where your James came from in Scotland?
