My Mother, Lil, and I have been researching the Falardeau - Martineau family tree for many years. Will exchange info with any that this obit interests.

OBIT: Mrs. N. Falardeau Norman Pioneer Died On Sunday. Had Lived In This District For Past 55 Years-- Was First Cousin Of Sir Wilfrid Laurier.

A resident of Norman since 1885, Mrs. Narcisse Falardeau, nee Flora Martineau, died Sunday, June 2nd, at the home of her son, A.J. Falardeau, of Norman.
The late Mrs. Falardeau was in her 80th year. She was born at L'Assomption, Quebec, and came to Norman as a young woman, where she met and married the late Mr. Falardeau, who pre-deceased her by thirteen years. She was a first cousin of the late Sir Wilfrid Laurier, as herfather, Ulysse Martineau and Sir Wilfrid's mother were brother and sister.
She leaves to mourn her loss, one sister, Mary MacKenzie, Winnipeg; a son, A.J. Falardeau, Norman; four daughters, Mrs. J. Garrow, Sr., Kenora; Mrs. H.T. Smith, Eagle Lake, Sask.; Mrs. Edgar Richards, Winnipeg; Josephine, address unknown; a son-in-law, Ed Brown, Kenora; a niece, Mrs. George Smith, Winnipeg; 22 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. The funeral will be geld at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday from the residence, with service in the Sacred Heart Church. Interment in the Roman Catholic cemetery.

*******Norman and Kenora are in Ontario.
