Falardeau/Falardo: France to Quebec to Cohoes NY

Hello: I am tracking some elusive ancestors named Falardeau/Falardo. I have several pieces of information that I am trying to fit together on this family. My great-grandmother was named Agnes Selena Guier dit Dumont Eberhard. I think she was named for her mother Agnes Selena Falardo Guier dit Dumont (my great-great grandmother) who went by the name Selena Falardo as a young woman. I believe Selena was born in Quebec. My Falardeau’s name changed to Falardo sometime in the mid 1800s when the family moved to Cohoes, NY. I have seen several Falardo first names that appear to be connected to my family but I am not sure how. There is a grocer named Peter Falardo who moved from Cohoes to Philadelphia in the late 1800s (when my family arrived there). There is Sister Mary Gabrielle Falardeau who was a nun living in Delaware that my mother is sure was a great Aunt. Also she remembers some Falardo relatives still living in Cohoes in the 1940s, two of whom may have been named Louis or Joseph. I am really hoping some of this sounds familiar to someone out there. Please contact me Mariannewrites@aol.com.
