I am looking for any information on John Gilbert Fairfield. He is my Great-Great Grandfather. He was born about 1805 in the U.S. Don't know where. He married Marie Felonise Poitras about 1839 or so. Marie Felonise Poitras was born 10-September-1815 in Assumption, Quebec. Together they had ten children. Domithilde, Jean Gilbert, George W., Jeremie, Marie Felonise, Livina Chloa, Marie Sarah Louise, Clemina, Georgiana (my great grandmother), and Marie Adeline Eulalie. Old John Gilbert must have moved to Quebec to either meet, or marry Marie Felonise Poitras. All of their children were born in Canada. My great grandmother, Georgiana, married Azarie-Casemire Lemieux. My fathe always knew him by the name of Cesarie.
If anyone has any information about John Gilbert Fairfield, or any of the names I mention here, I would be greatly interested to share what I have.
Though I am not a Fairfield myself, the name lives on in our family. My father's brother is named Fairfield Vanier.
