Fairfax/Simpson Connection?

Is there a relationship to the Fairfax family?

Elizabeth ? m. ? Jacobs abt. 1820
Child: Jacob T. Jacobs b. 1821 d. 1851 buried in the Union Cemetery in Lot 118. The lot was purchased by Elizabeth Jacobs Hipkins. There is also a Christopher Lambert d. 1861 buried in the lot.

Elizabeth later m. Richard L. Hipkins in 1837 in Shelburne Parish, ages attested by James S. Sampson. She m. again in 1854 to William Hammerly. There was also a marriage of an Elizabeth Thomas to Ryland Jacobs in 1832 in Shelburne Parish that would not have been the mother of Jacob b. 1821.

The 1850 census in Leesburg shows the following:

Jacobs, Jacob age 28
Hipkins, Bety age 48
Sampson, Emily age 18 (Have also seen this listed as Simpson)
Hipkins, Isabel age 12

I don't know what the connection to the Sampson/Simpson family was and am trying to determine Elizabeth's maiden name. Isabella m. Charles Morgan and they had a daughter, Louisa Fairfax Morgan. She claimed to be related to the Fairfax family but I have no idea which of these families she might have been related through.

Any information would be appreciated.

Donna
