Opps - I got Grace mixed up with Constance. Sorry about that. Grace Fairclough, born in Canada on August 28, 1916, died in San Diego on May 9, 1997. I suspect that the place of birth was Saskatchewan as her parents were in Saskatchewan when James's sister Agnes was married the previous month. Information on Mr. Elm comes from the California Death Records, not the SSDI. (The California Death Records can be searched through Rootsweb) As for Constance, she was born Welland Ontario on May 19, 1909, in the home of her uncle Thomas Bannan. Her birth was not immediately registered, or the registration was lost, with the result that in January 1972, she had to apply for a delayed registation. The address on the registation application was Chilliwack, British Columbia. (Source: Ontario Vital Records.) As for the other names you listed, James Fairclough, son of James Fairclough and Fanny Foster, was born October 07, 1876 in St. Helens Lancashire, immigrated to St. Catharines Ontario in 1905 to join his sisters Agnes and Sarah and his brother in law Thomas Bannan. He died in Chillawack British Columbia on December 13, 1961. Annie Winstanley, daughter of Henry Winstanley and Mary Beach, was born August 11, 1879 in St. Helen's Lancashire, and died May 29, 1944 in Chillawack British Columbia. George Fairclough, born May 20, 1907 in Toronto, ended up in the Yukon. Stanley Fairclough was born May 24, 1913 in Maymont Saskatchewan, and died December 21, 1975 in Chillawack British Columbia. I have nothing to add on the younger Annie and Mr. Collins. I have no information on Frank other than that he was not listed on the 1911 census with the other children born pre May 1911, that if he was born in Ontario prior to 1909 the birth was not registered, and that he does not show up in the Ontario death records for the period before his family headed west to homesteaded in Saskatchewan. Hope this helps. Notify Administrator about this message?
