I found a few Matilda Faircloth in The Faircloth Family Book by Robert Earl Woodham,historian.
Newson Sr. (d. 1830)wife Sarah (Sally) Everitt had dau. Matilda in Greene Co.,NC

Richard B. married Matilda Wicks in Mobile, Ala. (d. 1850) She later married a future governor of Texas. page 104
Matilda in Laurens Co. Ga. (1840 US Census)

Frederick Sr. and wife Matilda Taylor had ten children in Laurens Co.Ga. 1790-1820
