Andrew, I can't answer your question, but my son-in-law's ggrandfather was also James Henry Faircloth, born about 1895 in the Wilmington, NC, area. He died about 1935 leaving about 8 children. The family believes themselves to Croatan rather than Cherokee. If this fits into your tree, we would love to learn what you know. We'll be happy to give you data we can.
