Elaine,

Yes, they are "connected" but I can't tell you exactly what the relation is. I DO know that ALL Faircloth's -- Fairclough's are part of a single family with their origins in northwestern England. The William who settled in Greene County (old Dobbs County) was born in England and came to Virginia with his mother as an orphan.
