Peggy,
The reason you haven't had much success is because you have only his nickname "Thelbert". His correct name was ETHELBERT A. FAIRCLOTH. I write a person's name like this when they use a nickname: Ethelbert A. ("Thelbert"; "Elbert") Faircloth, with the nickname in parentheses and quotation marks (when they use a middle name, I don't include the quotation marks). This helps a lot.
Ethelbert was born in Dec 1824 and died about 1915 (don't have an exact date). He married
Christina Hart and they had at least 11 children.
