The book I have is "Roots & Shoots" by Avis Dewitt-she was from Dry Prong, LA. The book was published in 1984 by The Gregath Co. PO Box 1045 Cullman AL 35056-1045. I don't know if there are any copies left, I know it was a limited edition. I will gladly copy pages (?)or search the book for you.

I am esp. interested in John Allen Faircloth's son, Allen b 1 Sept 1840 in Henry Co AL. He is not my direct ancestor, he was a friend of my grandfather Thomas E. Custis, they lived near each other for 50 years, served in the Civil War together (fought on both sides) I am trying to learn as much about their friendship as possible. I believe thay might have been brothers-in-law. Do you know anything about this ?
