Dear Mary Catherine,

Yes, my great, great grandfather was William Chester Faircloth (son of Isaiah and Mary Letty Faircloth). I found census records that tied William to Isaiah and then found a Family Tree Maker WFT disc that detailed the information on Isaiah's children. Here is what I have from William forward:

William Chester FAIRCLOTH, married 24 Dec 1888 in Cumberland County NC, Ida B SIMMONS. William was born 10 Sep 1867 NC and died 30 Oct 1942 in Melrose, Putnam Co, FL. Ida was born 8 Aug 1869 NC and died 14 Sep 1942 in Melrose, FL. They are both buried in Eliam Baptist Cemetery in Melrose.

From the 1900 Census of Brooks County, GA, I was able to determine they had at least 4 children:
1- Manley FAIRCLOTH (b. Nov 1889 NC)
2- Lattey FAIRCLOTH (b. Aug 1893 NC)
3- Verdie Matilda FAIRCLOTH (b. 6 Nov 1896 NC; d. 1 Dec 1964 Jacksonville, FL) m. Walter Hamlyn MANN (b. 14 Apr 1896; d. 31 Jan 1987). She is my great-grandmother.
4- Vera FAIRCLOTH (b. Sep 1898 GA). Information from the IGI at the LDS web site states that she married, 15 Sep 1915, Joseph BOOTH (b. 28 Jul 1892; d. 2 Oct 1979).

According to my grandmother, William and Ida Faircloth re-located to Clermont, Citrus County, FL in the early 1900's and then ended up in Putnam County, FL, finally settling there and living out their lives. I believe William's occupation was of turpentiner.

I would love to share information on this family and hopefully find the ancestry of Isaiah Faircloth. Thanks for your post.
