I do not have the date of death for John Wesley Faircloth. I show John as the son of
Henry S. Faircloth and Cynthia Catherine Ashley. His parents died in Ashe Co., N.C.

1860 Ashe Co., N.C. Census and Civil War Veterans List :
John W. Faircloth age 18 household #637
Enlisted in Confederated Army Company L., 58th N.C. Infantry.
Served with brother Mitchell Martin Faircloth and brother-in-law Joshua Pendergrass.

Mitchell Martin Faircloth married Harriet Clementine Ashley on October 11, 1868 in Ashe County, North Carolina.
1870 Federal Ashe County, N.C. Census :
Mitchell age 26 (b.1844) works on farm
Clementine age 18
Mitchell M. Faircloth, brother John W. and brother-in-law Joshua (John) Pendergrass served together in Company L., 58th Regiment of North Carolina Troops.
Mitchell Martin Faircloth born 28 Mar 1844, died 27 Nov 1919, served in Conf. Army Co. L., 58th Reg., married Harriet Clementine Ashley, 11 Oct 1868. They had 8 children.
My Joshua (John) Pendergrass notes:
Joshua (John) Pendergrass married Hester Ann Faircloth, sister of Mitchell Martin and John Wesley Faircloth. Joshua was born June 4, 1836 and I have that he died in a Civil War Battle. Joshua and Hester’s last child was born 28 Oct 1876.
Sorry Michael, but I can’t find anyone in my Faircloth database that matches the M. L. Faircloth from Sampson Co., N.C. Sampson County had numerous Faircloth families during that time frame.
